Siding pressure washing and soft washing are two methods used for cleaning building exteriors, such as house siding. Each method is suited to different siding materials and conditions.

  • Soft washing is a gentler approach, combining low-pressure water with specialized cleaning solutions designed to eliminate organisms such as mold, algae, and mildew. These solutions penetrate the siding to break down organic stains and growths.
  • After the cleaning agents have done their work, the surface is gently rinsed with low-pressure water. This method is particularly beneficial for more delicate siding that cannot withstand the force of high-pressure washing.
  • Due to the potential for damage, high-pressure water is often not suitable for siding. Siding can’t withstand high-pressure water as it can cause harm, making soft washing the preferred method. Often, a chemical mixture is applied to siding to effectively clean surfaces without the risk of physical damage.
In summary, while pressure washing can be effective for durable surfaces needing deep cleaning, soft washing is the safer choice for delicate or potentially damaged siding. It uses chemical agents to clean and protect surfaces, ensuring longevity and maintaining appearance.
